Elizabeth wrote so many short stories for Christmas time, that it would be almost impossible to read them all in December. It was one of the hardest short story collections for me to find and is now out of print. The first short story entitled The Reward of Faith gives this collection its name. It is the story about a little boy named Pierre who walks through the snow to care for his animals during a storm, and contains all of the charm that we find in Goudge’s Island Magic.
