Announcing our full 2025 reading list
“Elizabeth Goudge Bookclub” has been reading Goudge together since 2019, so this year’s list will be our seventh year! It is a treasure to me that I have been able to read most of these books with Goudge readers multiple times over the past several years, and that we all share special passages and characters that we come back to, as well as engaging anew with Goudge’s writing together. There is always something fresh when I re-read Goudge’s books!
People have been messaging me since October about our list for next year, and finally here it is. I took feedback from our live book discussions and also Substack’s Notes to finalize this list that mixes old favorites and also some lesser-read Goudge books that I hope you will find a blessing in the coming year!

Close-ups of Goudge Readalong 2025:

I love your book collection and your candlestick holder and your lamp. The lights are perfect for Elizabeth Goudge on your selves.
I have an extra 1949 hardback edition of Gentian Hill that I would be glad to share. I would mail it to an interested person.
