“Shall we believe in him?” suggested Timothy.
Uncle Ambrose’s eyes twinkled. “That, Timothy” he said, “is a most unsuitable suggestion to make to a clergyman of the Church if England. I am not longer permitted to believe in the ancient gods. You, of course, can do as you wish.”
Timothy, with shining eyes, closed the book, “I wish,” he said.
