The Church of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives

“So Jesus rode out from Bethany to fight his last great battle against sin and death with no weapon in his hands. They held nothing but the bit of rope with which he guided the colt, and presently even the power of guiding his own movements would be taken from him. Rope would bind his hands, not lie in them. Yet he would conquer by the power of the peace of God in which he now rose, and his victory would be the greatest the world has ever known.”

My favorite church in 1999 on our college tour of the holy land was this little church on Bethphage, near where Jesus set out on his donkey ride. It had such a peaceful atmosphere, and Palm Sunday has always been a favorite day of mine. I thought you might enjoy a look today too!
