I'm another who found the idea of that bedroom captivating. So fun to learn about your experiences with Goudge!

Thank you for sharing your lovely books! So fun to hear how you found Goudge, and your love for Maria's room. It is such a magical setting. I have dreamed about making a "Little free library" box modeled after her room someday... would be nice to have in the curb by our garden. With a silver horseshoe on the door. :)

I also love the scene when Maria sees her bedroom for the first time It sounds like a room I want to sleep in!

I'm very new to Elizabeth Goudge. I have just ordered Green Dolphin Street and God So Loved the World from ThriftBooks. I've heard for a while about Elizabeth Goudge's books. I'm excited about finding a new author and series to read.

So glad you found Goudge and us too, Annette! We will be reading The Scent of Water together in May and The Little White Horse in June if you’d like to join us- two of her best! We just finished God so Loved in March, so you might enjoy the posts for that, and we will read Green Dolphin together in September. 📖❤️☺️
